Our Colleges’ accelerated cycle-based programming results in measurable accommodation and living expense cost-savings as compared with the traditional semester-based programs.
The cycle-based system enables our students to complete their programs and enter the employment market sooner which provides value-added benefit in comparison with semester-based programs which typically require an extended completion period. In addition, our graduates are able to earn up to 2-years of advanced credit in degree programs offered by both public and private universities in BC as well as internationally in Switzerland.
Each year Financial Awards are presented to students based on a range of criteria including GPA. As part of the Financial Awards criteria in 2019, students were asked to develop a video featuring their time at their respective colleges.
Thinking back as a graduate, during my time at VPC, I obtained a life time asset that was and still useful in a career. Vancouver Premier College’s excellence in hotel management allows me to understand the different aspects of hotel operations. Furthermore, I gained motivation to learn from my accomplishments in the college. As a graduate, I find that the materials that I learned from the instructors are closely related to my career because hotel management is a broad industry mixed with a variety of business concepts. At the same time, VPC offers practical experiences which allowed me to adapt to the complicated concepts in classes. As a student in VPC, the instructors taught me skills and concepts that not only apply to hotel industry but also any other jobs that require service. Furthermore, instructors at VPC were extremely beneficial to my studies. In my opinion, they are more like mentors than college instructors. They taught me knowledge, passed on their experience, and guided me to the desired career path which made me proud and thankful for everything I received from Vancouver Premier College. Lastly, VPC offers different facilities and materials to improve our learning and guides us on academic improvements. VPC is a good environment in which to learn and build networks. All staff and students are outgoing and are willing to help each other.
My experience in this college has been excellent. I have learned so much about Hotel Management topics and cultures all over the world. From the culinary, food and beverage to different management processes in different countries around the world. I would really recommend Vancouver Premier College to international students looking for new experiences and interested in learning more about hotel management.
Vancouver Premier College makes 100% sure that their mission statement is always reinforced to students and delivered to them by making students learn in a multi-cultural environment where students are taught the professional, intellectual, personal and practical leadership skills necessary to succeed in their chosen fields. My experiences and memories in Vancouver could not have been possible if it wasn’t for Vancouver Premier College, which made the process of studying in another country very comfortable for me.
I would like to thank everyone at VPC. It is a good college because they will help you towards building a career or help you get into a good university technical institute such as Capilano or BCIT. I highly recommend VPC because their instructors have a lot of practical experience from the hospitality industry; and you will learn a lot through their hands-on training methods. I really enjoyed my time at VPC. It was very comfortable there because everyone was like your friend. I found the administration team and advisers always provided good advice and they also took time to listened to our personal life stories too. You will find respect from the very top – from the executive director, operations manager, academic advisors and from all the instructors.
My experience at Vancouver Premier College has been informative and motivating. Not only did I get a lot of knowledge on the industry through books and instructors real-life experiences; I grew and matured as a student and as a person. It was amazing to see how VPC supported me and helped me with my struggles, given that I was in the certificate program as compared to the diploma students. It’s to them that I say, “Thank you!”. For without their knowledge of hotels and the hospitality industry and the help of the staff when I was in need of guidance, I would not have been able to prepare for the industry.
Every time I recall my study at Vancouver Premier College (VPC), I always believe that my experience at VPC not only made me a better student but also prepared me in multiple ways for my career. When I was looking for a college, I wanted one where I could finish my study as soon as possible while learning useful skills at the same time. I found VPC was the perfect college for me because VPC opened-up opportunities for students who want to work in the hotel industry. Throughout my year of study in VPC, I completed 60 credits and received 15 AH&LA Certificates which will increase my probability of getting a job. The flexible course schedule gives me the opportunity to have a part-time job, so I was able to learn more about the social practice that also helps me to understand more about the knowledge I gained at VPC. I am grateful to VPC for giving students the opportunity to apply for a scholarship. By getting a scholarship, not only did it reduce the cost of my education but also inspired me to work harder. I have created a brighter future for myself by attending VPC. My experience in Vancouver Premier College was memorable, rewarding, and worthwhile.
The VPC curriculum gives us various opportunities to develop the general abilities which are vital to work in the hospitality industry. We don’t just study the textbook, but also research real hotels or restaurants, create our own projects, do presentations, and so on. I can learn about the hotel industry and also improve my English. I enjoy studying with many friends from various backgrounds.
I had lots of opportunities to meet various industry people, not only in classes at VPC, but also through hospitality field trips to attractions and hotels in Vancouver. This exposure to the industry really helped me to learn about my career options. If you want a career in hospitality, I strongly recommend studying at Vancouver Premier College.
VPC’s best asset is its staff. They are all very knowledgeable in the hospitality industry and are happy to share their practical experience with us. It is obvious to me that they really care about our professional development, and they are willing to go the extra mile to help us succeed.
After having worked in the hotel industry for five years in Italy, I felt I needed to make some professional improvements. I wanted to understand more about hotel management and what it was going to take to become a successful hotel manager. VPC has given me the tools to further develop my knowledge and working techniques. From my experience, I can truly say that VPC’s programs are very practical and match my experience of the real work world.
