The Post Certificate in Education Administration (PCEA) is an advanced educational program designed to cultivate highly skilled educational leaders capable of navigating complex organizational landscapes, driving strategic innovation, and promoting inclusive, sustainable educational practices. By integrating cutting-edge education research methodologies, leadership theories, administrative principles and emerging technological insights, the program prepares students and education practitioners alike to lead educational institutions and organizations with ethical vision, strategic acumen and deep commitment to diverse learner needs.

Through dynamic content that is designed to enhance and accelerate advanced learning through the combination of creative video presentations, simulations, innovative management practice and interactive learning exercises, students are provided with a unique learning experience that will enable them to acquire advanced knowledge in education administration. The content covers a range of advanced education administration concepts, techniques and skills that are required to develop, plan and implement an effective education administration strategy. In addition, students will have access to advanced education technology and AI-enhancements that will facilitate both future skills-development and understanding while enabling students to accelerate their learning and command of the practical and technical concepts being demonstrated by instructors and leading education  administration practitioners. 

The PCEA is an advanced education administration program that has been designed for students who have completed an academic credential, such as a Certificate and/or degree, but have decided to  acquire new technical knowledge and in-demand skills as a means of changing the trajectory of their career or academic studies. Upon their successful completion of the program, graduates will be  qualified to apply for administrative positions and occupations including those listed under NOC Code 41210 college and other vocational instructors. Professional occupations which involve analyzing the structure, operations, managerial methods or functions of an educational organization.

The PCEA will provide access to quality post-Certificate education programming for students from both local and international destinations and will enable students to study in VPCAS’s supportive multi-cultural learning environment. This program will enable students to develop the essential skills necessary to succeed in the global economy while also equipping them with both the knowledge and skills required to transition their careers and academic studies, and/or, to improve their current and  future employment prospects.

The PCEA has an education administration curriculum that incorporates technology, research and  quantitative courses with case studies that facilitate learning through practical application. This  unique blend of current and future skills learning provides a well-rounded education administrative skill set and enhances the graduate’s overall employability. 

Admissions Requirement

1. Recognized certificate, diploma or degree in the subject area or, completion of 90 credits in the subject area from a recognized postsecondary institution.

2. Be at least 19 years of age or older at the start of the program.

Meets one of the options below where English is a principle language:
Option 1 – Completion of 2 years of full-time post-secondary education from a recognized institution where English is the language of instruction, or
Option 2 – Provide verified results for one of the English language proficiency tests listed below. Test results will be dated no more than 2 years before the start date of the program.
o IELTS (Academic): Minimum overall score of 6.0
o TOEFL IBT: Minimum overall score of 68
o Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) General: 7.0; Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test: 50
o Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 46
o Duolingo English Test (DET): 105
o Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First Exam (FCE): Minimum overall score of 160 or “C”
o Cambridge Linguaskill: Minimum overall B2 Level
o LANGAGECERT Academic: Minimum overall B2 level
o The Michigan English Test (MET): Minimum overall B2 level
o ITEP Academic: Minimum overall score of 3.5
o EIKEN: Minimum placement of Grade Pre-1

Mature student applicants:
• Applicant is 19 years or older at the start of the program and is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who cannot access is their educational records or provide sufficient evidence of secondary or post-secondary education as outlined above:
o applicant provides attestation that they have completed at least three years of full-time instruction in English in a country where the English is one of the principal languages, and
o Applicant completes an Accuplacer English Assessment (Next Generation: Reading, Writing and WritePlacer) and achieves the following minimum scores:
• Reading: 235
• Writing: 235
• WritePlacer: 4

Required Curriculum

The Post Certificate in Education Administration is a 10 course, 600 hour, 30 credit program that can be completed in two traditional semesters, or, on an accelerated schedule in accordance with student needs and/or preference. The accelerated schedule consists of 30 weeks of in-class and/or online instruction and enables students to complete the program requirements in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

Graduation Requirement

To graduate from the PCEA Program, students must:
1. Complete a minimum of 30 credits.
2. Attend at least 75% of program lectures/classes.
3. Pass each individual course with 50% or higher.
4. Achieve a minimum program 2.50 AGPA.

In addition, students may transfer up to 3 elective courses (9 credits) as breadth courses in this program.

Upon completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

• Critically analyze and apply research methodologies to investigate educational challenges, generate evidence-based insights and develop innovative solutions that enhance institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
• Understand and implement comprehensive ethical frameworks that guide educational leadership, ensuring principled governance, equitable practices and responsible institutional management.
• Design and execute strategic planning processes that align organizational goals with emerging educational trends,
technological advancements and sustainable development principles.
• Evaluate and address diverse learner needs through inclusive pedagogical strategies, comprehensive assessment techniques, and nuanced understanding of individual learning differences and exceptional educational requirements.
• Explore the transformative potential of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in reshaping educational delivery, administrative processes and future learning.
• Synthesize theoretical knowledge and practical leadership skills through capstone experiences that demonstrate holistic understanding of advanced educational administration, policy development and organizational dynamics.

Post Certificate in Education Administration was reviewed and approved by the Registrar of the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

╴This program is not eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit.
