As a means of mitigating risks associated with the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the Metro Vancouver area and given the absence of an effective vaccine, VPC will continue to offer its courses exclusively online throughout the Winter 2021 semester.
In order to facilitate VPC’s continuation of its online programming, the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training’s Private Training Institutions Branch has recently extended its temporary approval for VPC to deliver its programs online until March 31, 2021. The health and safety of our students, staff and community members continues to be our highest priority, VPC will continue to follow the direction provided by the Provincial Health Officer, WorksafeBC and relevant BC Health Authorities as it relates to reopening our campuses for in-class delivery admid the COVID-19 pandemic.
We would like to remind our international students that you must continue to meet the conditions as a study permit holder. This includes being enrolled full-time during each academic semester, making progress towards completing your program’s courses and not taking authorized leaves longer than 150 days from your study program. Students who violate the IRCC Study Permit Requirements will not be able to resume study with any Canadian post-secondary institution until the requirements are appropriately satisfied
As you may know, all designated learning institutions in British Columbia are required to submit 2 compliance reports to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) each year in March and November. The compliance monitoring system established by IRCC was created for the purpose of identifying violations of the International Student Study Permit requirements. We urge all of you to ensure that you continue to meet the requirements as outlined above.
