On March 8, Dr. Bonnie Henry, BC’s Public Health Officer, advised the presidents of all public colleges and universities to prepare for a full return to on-campus education. With strong and effective safety plans in place and given current immunization timelines and vaccine approvals, I am pleased to confirm that, unless given guidance to remain closed, all three Vancouver Premier College institutions will begin planning for a return to on-location education this fall.
As part of our planning related preparations, VPC institutions will actively monitor all guidance received from the BC Provincial Health Officer, Government officials, Public Health Authorities and WorkSafe BC and will ensure that this guidance is effectively communicated to all members of the VPC community so that they are kept well informed as to the most recent developments related to COVID-19 risk which may impact plans to resume on-location education this fall.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the extraordinary work that they have done so far in assisting VPC to address the COVID-19 circumstance in a proactive and responsible manner. As we plan for the resumption of on-location education and related activity, we will continue to prioritize the well-being of our community members while providing the very highest quality education standards and student experience possible.
Although the COVID-19 measures being implemented in each of our locations will result in a different learning experience for students than what they had previously experienced, we very much look forward to seeing everyone again and actively engaging in the learning processes that enable students to pursue their aspirations, realize their potential and secure their futures.
