This course introduces key concepts, strategies, and techniques of social science research including conceptualization and measurement, research design, sampling, the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. The course will explore how scientists investigate social relations and contexts. Students will learn to develop research questions and turn them into research projects. They will also learn data collection techniques and related ethical issues, the relationship between theory and research, and other fundamental concepts and issues involved in conducting research.
