This course examines the major thematic concerns that have traditionally shaped the sub-disciplines of economic geography while also engaging with emerging issues that are likely to become focal points in shaping future debates. The course also provides an introduction to the different ways modern economic geographers understand, analyze and interpret economic processes, and, addresses significant questions relevant to contemporary economic life, from the activities of transnational corporations to issues surrounding workplaces and consumption.
