Vancouver Premier College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Olivia New as Director of Academic Programs.
Dr. New holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Nottingham University (UK) and BSc from the University College London (UK). Dr. New has extensive post-secondary education experience in the BC public system as a Chemist and faculty member at the University of British Columbia in addition to possessing significant executive administration and board governance experience gained through her establishment and management of three BC Education Quality Assurance-Oriented Enterprises and Collaboratives focused on improving local and international student learning and academic performance in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.
As an executive learning administrator and faculty member, Dr. New has extensive experience in curriculum development and maintenance of academic programs and standards; evaluation of curricula, teaching methods and programs to determine their effectiveness; and, alignment of academic courses and programs with learning objectives. She also has demonstrated expertise in the design, development and implementation of inquiry, interest and project-based Student-Centered Learning concepts that are integrated through the application of engineering design processes and technologies that enable achievement of superior student learning outcomes.
